Hi all, Welcome to this new blog!

My hope is that you'll find inspiration, hope, humor, and wisdom through this blog.
So, what is in my heart today?  Having just gone through the Christmas holiday, I'm wondering how present I was (no pun intended!) through it all.  Sometimes I feel like Christmas is something I have to hold my breath through and "accomplish"...like a chore...ugh.  While I did enjoy some very special moments with my family...in all honesty, ooh, dare I say this?  I'm glad it's over.  I ate way too many chocolate cake balls (best thing ever invented...second to the epidural for childbirth!!); spent way too much money; and didn't even watch one Christmas special.  (wah...I was probably too busy making chocolate cake balls...did I mention how yummy they were...and that I made 3 batches of them??)  What was the reason for this season again?  Something about a baby in a manger, with wise men.  (And, I'm convinced that if there were wise women bringing Jesus gifts, I'm sure they would've wrapped up a few of these lil chocolate cake balls...ok, ok, I'll stop now.)

So, I vow, in this next year, to slow down and capture more moments in my heart.  Would you like to join me in that?  I know that when I do slow down, my heart is so happy.  Let's do this together, okay?  Let's pinky swear that we will slow down...that we will simplify more...that we will not put as much pressure on ourselves to do so much, so that we can enjoy life more.  I know we can do this...and I promise I will...soon...but for now, I've got to "accomplish" New Year's Eve!!!  If you've already started slowing down...here's a recipe for you to try...it's simple...we agreed on simple...enjoy!
With love,
Sandy

Chocolate Cake Ball recipe:
1 Chocolate cake mix
1 container of chocolate frosting
Chocolate disks for melting

Make one chocolate cake according to directions on box.  When cool, crumble the cake and mix together with the tub of chocolate frosting. (It will look like chocolate paste.)  Refridgerate for a couple hours.  Roll into small balls, the size of a very small walnut.  Arrange on a large cookie sheet, and freeze.   When frozen, dip them into the melted chocolate disks (that I usually melt in the microwave).  Place on wax paper.  YUMMO!!
